I paint because I feel the need to put on canvas or paper what God reveals to me in my mind and heart. I don't always get it right; but it's the trying that makes it worthwhile.
Oil paint is my favorite medium, but I've recently become interested in watercolors. I'm excited about the way they each come to life when completed. I had always heard watercolors are unforgiving, but - just as in life - forgiveness is gained when we persist...maybe that's the key!
I've painted with Joyce Burns for quite a few years. She's not only my instructor but also my friend. She's always so patient with me while guiding me in all my endeavors to learn and try new ideas.
I live in Scotland, Arkansas, in the Ozarks. It's beautiful here, quaint, and not overly populated. I thank God that I have the opportunity to live here and enjoy nature at its best and to represent it often in my art. I also thank Larry, my husband, who's always encouraged me to do my best and not give up.
